These posters were created from photographs I took at Mamou on Mardi Gras 2010. They are available for $20 each, both with and without the text. Lori K. Gordon is a Mississippi Gulf Coast artist whose work may be found in the public collections of the Smithsonian Institution, University of Southern Mississippi, University of Virginia, Safeco Corporate Collection, Art Across Arkansas, Katrina Research Center, Mississippi Humanities Council, University of Kentucky, International Museum of Muslim Cultures, and the Alice Moseley Museum. Private collectors include President Barack and First Lady Michelle Obama, former President and First Lady Jimmy and Rosalyn Carter, singer Faith Hill, ESPN announcer Jon Miller, Good Morning America’s Robin Roberts, and LA producer Don Wilson. Gordon’s work has been featured by National Public Radio, MSNBC, CBS, Christian Science Monitor, the Associated Press, and in regional magazines and newspapers around the country. She has been featured in several documentaries, and has traveled extensively with her groundbreaking “Katrina Collection.” The artist's most recent body of work, "Six Degrees: West to East" is a collection of new media work which reflects upon the cultures of Turkey and Cyprus.
